May Day Clumber Park
Walk
Yew Tree and their dogs went out for
Mayday Bank Holiday stroll to Clumber Park,
Notts.
We all met along Lime Avenue to get set
up and ready for a walk along the woods and its
surroundings, after a few difficulties with parking we
had a little stroll around some
woods, the dogs enjoyed a play and then, as usual, the
weather turned, so we all stopped for dinner in our
vehicles.
After having to pay an
extortionate fee of £5 to park along a side road, we all
decided to park at the visitors centre and walk around
the lakes. We all enjoyed the views and the dogs behaved
themselves impeccably especially with all the wildlife
distractions. We moved our vehicles down to the old
mill where the dogs could go in the lakes. The dogs
loved the water especially Pebble and Maya and
eventually, to her disgust, Maud had a little paddle
too.
The sun shined for the latter part of
the day which we all enjoyed and eventually we went
home "dog"
tired.
Thank you to all our members who came
for a day out and we hope to see you either camping in
Wales or at our regular Mablethorpe Seaside Jolly
later in the
year.
Yew Tree @ Kennelgate
Promotion
Weekend
The
10th and 11th April saw Yew Tree being guests at a
Promotional Weekend at the new Kennelgate in
Hucknall, Nott's.
Paul and Yvonne with their Spinoni
"Phanta" and "Maya" and Sue and Andy with "Rafe" their
GSD spent a lovely hot and sunny Saturday and
Sunday chatting about dogs with the
shoppers and visitors to the new store and generally
promoting the Society and showing our breeds to those who
were interested. Paul, Andy and Sue had their faces
painted by the lovely Pip from Pip-a-Roo. Thanks to kennelgate for
keeping us supplied in hot water for our teas and coffees
and treats for the dogs.
Kennelgate had two very good days with
facepainting, Babbington rescue and guinea
pig stall, balloons, ice creams and a visit from
Trent FM Black Thunders on the
Sunday.
During both days of the weekend we had
plenty of visits of different breeds from the members of
the Society, many thanks to those that came and supported
us and taking the time to come and help us put on a
little discovery dogs day out for the public who came to
visit.
Thank you to Collards and kennelgate for
allowing us to attend and we look forward to helping you
once again on any of your new ventures in the near
future.
Wales
09
The beautiful
countryside of Wales was home to Yew Tree Canine's
very first show tour in August this year (09) at the
Welsh Kennel Club Champ Show in Builth
Wells.
The
committee and other members of the club got together for
a great weekend of showing, barbequing and generally
having a good time.
We
all had plenty of lovely scenic walks followed
by some great breakfasts, plenty to drink and great
food.
Although the
weather for the time of year was very drizzling it did
not dampen our spirits with evenings of grub
and chat and
even a bit of training thrown in too for our two junior
handlers, Shannon and
Rebecca.
A
really great break for us all and well deserved
after all our hard work we put into training our
dogs for the shows.
It was sad to say
goodbye to Wales but
we look forward to seeing you all again , hopefully with
some new faces, in August 2010.
Best Wishes to you
all......................
"SEASIDE
JOLLY"
Members of Yew Tree had a wonderful day
out at Mablethorpe, Lincs on the 25th October this
year.
Sadly, we were unable to make it but
Sue, Andy, Amie, Jane, Brian, Rebecca, Dave and Gill
enjoyed a lovely sunny day on the beach with their
dogs....(sorry to Helen for not catching you
there).

Hopefully next year more of us will be
able to make it a great day for Yew Tree On
Tour.
